I would like to welcome you to our Digital Visual Media Arts Department.
I'm excited and look forward to working with all of you this year! Remember that creativity is about exploration, visualization, experimentation, and having an open mind to visual options.

In this class, we will focus on production-level projects. We will be working with industry partners to gain a better insight into how the students can approach a career in the entertainment industry.
The class format will be a demo reel, studio production level one class that will guide the students through the development of an animated short film, motion graphics commercial, a series, and portfolio development aimed at advanced production techniques.
We will develop industry-level production projects that students can market to community colleges, UC, CalStates, or studio-level internships.
At the end of the semester, our students will present and pitch their product to three industry partners that will give them insight and a deeper understanding of production pipelines and industry practices.

Course Description

Educational Philosophy

Course Goals
Upon satisfactory completion of this course, students will:
- Pitch development
- Demonstrate proficiency in planning a production
- Develop a consistent theme to run throughout the year
- Compose and edit stories to create production-level media
- Learn to create and manipulate video, audio and graphics
- Learn useful prodcution techniques aimed at entertainment media
- Manipulate and format graphic objects
- Create story driven animated media
- Develop a market a complete product aimed at media and entertainment
- Discover the importance of making and keeping deadlines
- Produce a final media product
Attendance Policy
Students are required to attend classes prepared, ready to learn, and ON TIME. Tardy students disrupt the learning environment of a class.
Behavior Guidelines
Rowland Students are respectful, responsible, and safe.

- I will make every effort to complete any assignment given.
