English 10 Course Description

This year we will be reading and examining literature and non-fiction from the early stages of this country, to more contemporary modern works and current events. Our main focus will be on working to become more fluent readers and writers, listeners and speakers. We will be using a variety of reading and writing strategies that are designed to help students access the texts at a deeper level. Although our textbook will be used as the foundation for most of our reading and writing, we will be using many online publications, and when possible, students will also have the ability to choose a few of the extended texts that we read.
