Principal's Message
Rowland is a special place for me as I have been part of this high school in many roles – as a student, teacher, and now principal. What makes this place extraordinary are the people who pass through this school on a daily basis. RHS has respectful students who care for one another, families who are involved and committed to their children, teachers who go above and beyond their expected duties, classified staff who pride themselves on customer service and support, and administrators who work hard to provide solid systems which allow for all groups to flourish.

Rowland High School is an accomplished high school that came into existence in 1964. We serve a diverse community which strengthens our capacity to support the success of our students as they demonstrate their ability as thinkers, communicators and contributors. Rowland has been named a California Distinguished School, a National Blue Ribbon School, and an Exemplary Career Technical Education Program. We were recognized through Newsweek as one of the top 1,500 schools in the nation and identified as a Bill Gates School through the Successful Practices Network. Rowland has consistently delivered outstanding performances on the local, state and national levels for academic and athletic competitions.
Rowland offers strong academic and social programs which meet the needs of all of our students. Academically we offer International Baccalaureate (IB) and Advanced Placement (AP) for the motivated and gifted student, Achievement Via Individual Determination (AVID) and the Career Certification Program for the college-going student that wants specialization, and focused classes to support the student with a particular need. RHS fields one of the top bands in the state, showcases award winning choir and drama programs, and an animation/art program that feeds the Hollywood film industry. Socially we offer multiple clubs, a competitive athletics program, an award winning Leadership program, Best Buddies, and Community of Caring. We truly provide opportunities for our students to express themselves and explore their interests as they move forward to adulthood.
