Hello, Rowland Families!

Hello! My name is Helen, and I serve as the Counseling and Enrollment Office Assistant (Bilingual – Mandarin) at Rowland High School. I am also the Registrar for students with last names Mg–Z. In my role, I assist students and families with enrollment, registration, and counseling-related needs, as well as provide Mandarin translation to help parents feel informed, supported, and connected to our school community.

This work is especially meaningful to me because I can relate to the experiences of many of the families I serve. I came to the United States when I was young and had to learn English myself. Since my parents did not speak English, I understand firsthand how challenging it can be to navigate the school system and communicate with teachers and school staff when there is a language barrier.

My personal experience inspires me to help families feel welcomed, understood, and supported. I believe every parent deserves to feel connected to their child's education, regardless of the language they speak. I am grateful for the opportunity to help bridge that language gap and make a positive difference in the lives of our students and families.

大家好！我叫 Helen，是 Rowland High School（羅蘭高中）輔導與註冊辦公室的雙語（中文）辦公室助理，同時負責姓氏首字母為 Mg–Z 的學生註冊事務。

在我的工作中，我協助學生和家長處理入學註冊、學生登記以及輔導辦公室相關事務，並為講中文的家長提供翻譯服務，幫助他們更了解學校資訊、獲得所需的支援，並融入我們的校園社區。

這份工作對我來說有著特別的意義，因為我能夠理解許多家庭所經歷的困難。我小時候到美國時也必須從頭開始學習另一個語言。由於我的父母不會說英語，我親身體會過，當語言成為障礙時，與老師和學校工作人員溝通、了解學校制度會有多麼不容易。

正因為有這樣的成長經歷，我更希望幫助每個家庭感受到學校的歡迎、理解與支持。我相信，無論家長說什麼語言，他們都應該有機會參與孩子的教育，並與學校保持良好的聯繫。我很感恩自己有機會成為學校與家庭之間的橋樑，幫助學生和家長獲得所需的資訊與支持。
