Graduation Requirements Beginning with the Class of 2030

Beginning with the Class of 2030, graduation requirements are slightly different from previous classes.
 
Old Requirements
  • Health is no longer a requirement as the Health curriculum will be embedded in PE classes. Students not enrolled in PE (such as Marching Band, Athletics, Cheer, Dance, or Color Guard) will meet the Health requirement through an alternative method that has yet to be determined. More information to follow.
  • CAR (Community Activity Requirement) volunteer hours are no longer required.
 
New Requirements
  • A year-long Ethnic Studies class will be required.
  • Instead of all students being required to take 2 classes in a career pathway, now students have the flexibility to take either 2 Career & Technical Education (CTE) classes, 2 World Language classes, or 2 Visual & Performing Arts classes.
 
Different Requirements
  • Because taking 5 credits of Health is no longer required, the number of credits required to earn a diploma has decreased from 225 to 220 credits.
