Huge congratulations go out to senior Jennifer Kim on her acceptance and full-ride Questbridge scholarship to Amherst College!! Amherst College is among the most selective liberal arts colleges in the United States. In 2012, Amherst College set a record low overall acceptance rate of 11.9% for freshman applicants. In 2010, Forbes ranked Amherst College as the third best college or university in the United States, ahead of MIT, Stanford University, Caltech and every Ivy League institution except Princeton University. Amherst's comprehensive tuition, room & board fee, and miscellaneous expenses for the 2012-13 academic year is $63,259. And because of Jennifer's outstanding academic record and accomplishments her tuition is free for all four years!
On her future goals and acceptance to such a prestigious college Jennifer said, "I plan to study neuroscience and biology to prepare for medical school. I also want to continue to take various Spanish classes to become fluent. And I feel absolutely grateful that I was accepted to such an amazing school. I'm still excited about the possible ways to explore and venture a whole new world full of enthusiastic professors and diverse students that Amherst provides. Hopefully, I am able to contribute to the school with my willingness and passion to involve myself in school activities, internships, and research programs. I want to take advantage of every resource that Amherst provides for its students."
