Research Paper

All sophomore honors and junior English students must write a research based paper. Sophomores write their essay about a novel they select to read, and juniors write about an American topic of their choosing. The research paper is a semester long assignment and constitutes a large percentage of the overall grade. It prepares the student for college level writing, teaches them the rules of the Modern Language Association, and it prepares the I.B. students for the Extended Essay requirement for the I.B. diploma.
