This is the third course in Rowland High School's English honors series, and it builds on the skills taught in the two prior classes. Language A: Literature is a two-year, International Baccalaureate English class that emphasizes critical reading and interpretive writing. Students will also be required to plan and deliver formal and informal oral presentations. Works of core literature include: Ethan Frome, The Tragedy of Macbeth, Miss Julie, Their Eyes Were Watching God, The Sound of Waves, The House of the Spirits, and the poetry of Pablo Neruda. Additional works of shorter length are also studied.
