Assignment
Students will be expected to create 2 Real Life Objects once again, but this time a pen will be used to create the shade instead of a pencil. This will entail the usage of hatching, crosshatching and stippling. On 2 separate pages, students are to create large hatched, crosshatched or stippled drawings based upon real objects from their surroundings. The pictures must be clean and neat, holding all straight lines or well stippled marks.

Assignment
After finishing the 4 Object Shade Scale, students will now be expected to apply this same scale to actual 3D objects on 4 separate sheets of paper. You will be responsible for items from real life that represent a Sphere, a Cylinder, a Cube and a Pyramid. You can choose from smaller objects such as Coca Cola cans or Chap Stick Tube (Cylinder), Baseball or Basketball (Sphere) or you can go giant sized items like the Great Pyramids of Egypt (Pyramid) or a Building or Structure from Downtown LA (Cube). The options are really limitless though I have several expectations:
1) You must use the entire sheet of paper. Do not draw a small 2 inch can of Sprite in the corner of the paper.
2) You must add all details of the actual object including shaping, designs on the surface or anything that makes the object distinguishable.
3) You must also add the shade scale, but do not show any lines like we had placed on the projects from the previous assignments.
4) Object does not need a shadow.
If you need to look, double check past assignments that can give you a layout on of the shade scale.

3-D Shape Scale
You need to create a 3-D Shape scale for 4 objects including:
1) 6 inch Sphere
2) 3 x 8 inch Cylinder
3) 4 x 4 inch Perfect Cube
4) 6 inch perfect Pyramid
You will also need to create a shadow for each object. All the tutorials and diagrams will be gone over in class on both white boards. Please take notes in your art journal. The entire scale will be placed on each object, including the shadow scale. Please take note of this as I will not be providing the scale for the 3rd project.
You can work on one sheet of paper for each object or try to place 2 objects on each sheet.
