I am happy to be a part of your child's education. I feel it is very important that we work together as a team to ensure your child's success. I want to provide you with some important information that can assist in accomplishing this goal.
I believe that it is my responsibility to be prepared properly for the daily instruction of your child, to give them the environment that is conducive to proper instruction, to fairly and objectively evaluate their progress, and to make myself available to meet any individual needs. Homework is assigned daily and each assignment is discussed, collected and graded. If additional help is needed, I am available during nutrition. It is the student's responsibility to seek extra help. Test are given after each chapter and quizzes are given within the chapter. Tests and quizzes are returned to the students after they have been graded and gone over in class.
Students need to take the responsibility for coming in prepared to learn. This requires them to attend class with the proper materials, completing homework assignments on time, following directions, and actively participating in class. Homework is a necessary tool for your child to practice the concepts learned during the day’s lesson. Homework will be assigned and checked on a daily basis. In order for your child to earn full credit on their homework assignment they must use pencil, complete the entire assignment, and show their work. If a student fails to come prepared to class, it may result in a deduction of their homework points.
Your child’s grades will earned based on a combination of tests, quizzes, homework, and participation. Tests and quizzes will account for approximately 70% of your child’s grade. Homework will count for approximately 20% and participation will consist of the remaining 10%. Your child will receive a progress report at least twice a semester. A = 90-100% B = 80-89.9% C = 70-79.9% D = 60-69.9% F = 0-59.9%.
I look forward to a great year filled with successful learning and fun.
