¡Bienvenidos¡ I am pleased to be your Spanish 1 teacher.  I would like to share with you a few important things related to this course

1. Your grade in this class will be computed using a total points system.
2. Letter grades will be determined based on the following scale. It is based on the percentage of points earned out of the points possible. I do round up ☺.
90%-100%=A (Excellent)
80%-89%=B (Good)
70%-79%=C (Average)
60%-69%=D (Needs Improvement)

Assessments
1. They will be announced verbally and/or via Google Classroom and ParenSquare, written on the class calendar, and/or posted on       my website under the calendar link. Some exceptions may be certain audio or oral activities.
2. They can consist of fill-ins with or without a word bank, multiple choice, completion, short answers, true/false, matching, or essays.
3. Speaking, listening, reading, and writing skills; vocabulary; grammar; and culture will be consistently assessed.
4. ACADEMIC DISHONESTY IS UNACCEPTABLE. If this occurs, an “F” will be given on the assignment or assessment; a referral will be submitted to the office; and parents will be notified via ParenSquare.

I give make up assessments during lunch.  Make-ups will be given only for legally excused absences. No make-ups will be allowed for certain graded audio and oral activities or daily participation. If there is a project or assignment due on the day of the absence, it must be turned in on the day you return to school.

2. If the assignment is done incorrectly, is not legible, or is incomplete, you will not receive full credit and/or will be asked to redo it.
3. If you have an excused absence, you will be allowed to make up the homework assignment based on the number of days you were absent. For instance, if you were absent two days, you will have two days to make up the homework assignment. It is your responsibility to show me the make up work when you return to class.  I will not ask you for it.
