Clubs and Activities
The Business Education department advises for Future Business Leaders of America "FBLA". FBLA is a national organization for students interested in the field of Business and Leadership. The organization hosts leadership and competitive events throughout the year.
Its mission is to develop students' leadership, presentation, networking, service, and career skills.
Please refer to the national and California FBLA Web sites for more information. Click on the "Links" link to access those sites. I also attached (below) an informational video created by FBLA. I encourage you to watch it and be amazed at the presentation and maturity of the high school students shown in the video. Rowland High School has the same caliber of young adults motivated to succeed in this organization.
Since our inception in the 2013-2014 school year, our RHS club won numerous awards at the regional competitions. Each year, over half of our competitors at the regional level place in the top ten for their individual events, and many of those then qualify for the state competition which typically has over 2,000 competitors. Beyond the state level, each year, we have had one to three competitors qualify to compete at the national conference which typically includes approximately 10,000 competitors. Several of our national competitors placed in the top ten in their event at the national conference where some received monetary awards.
